Dr. Shahabi’s Bliss Dental SF is a general dental practice unlike any other, with its unique philosophy, relaxing and soothing service, and sustainable office environment.
Bliss Dental SF treats the whole person, and is dedicated to providing every patient with a positive, stress-free experience and first-class service. Its atmosphere of relaxation to puts both mind and body at ease. Stress-free dental care in elegant spa surroundings enables the body to comfortably receive treatment and to heal more effectively. Patients are pampered with cool water, massage chairs, magazines, big-screen TVs and Netflix in every service room, iPods, and Pandora.
Dr. Shahabi is deeply invested in caring for her patients, and this care is reflected in the pioneering, sustainable, and serene environment designed by Kuth/Ranieri Architects of San Francisco to reduce or prevent exposure to the everyday toxins common in other interiors. The materials—bamboo, insulation made of recycled jeans, low-VOC paint, amalgam separators to keep mercury out of the water—are all eco-friendly, and the building at 345 California Street is LEED Gold-certified.
Dr. Shahabi’s practice uses the most advanced equipment and technology and the highest quality products, such as relaxing, ergonomic massage chairs. The goal is to treat every patient with movie-star-level quality dental care. At Bliss Dental SF, from routine dental cleanings to CEREC two-hour crowns, Invisalign®, Power Whitening, and dental implants, we make sure to put a smile on every patient’s face.

Sheila Shahabi, DDS
Dr. Sheila Shahabi was drawn to dentistry out of her desire to help others—to relieve pain, to help people keep their teeth and their smiles. She views dentistry as an art that she gets to practice daily, and has established her own uplifting philosophy of dedication to high quality patient care, soothing and relaxation, and restoring patients’ well-being in pleasant, environmentally friendly surroundings.
A committed individual with high aspirations and a willingness to work hard seven days a week, Dr. Shahabi entered private practice in 1999, her first year after graduating from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, having earned her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley. She is fluent in Farsi and Spanish. Young as she was, Dr. Shahabi earned promotions to management positions at every job she had. But she knew she wanted to practice dentistry instead of traveling and opening and managing dental offices.
Dr. Shahabi’s diverse experience gave rise to her development of a new concept of dental care, based on environmental responsibility and proactive patient relationships. She founded Bliss Dental SF in 2006 with a vision of providing the highest quality, most up-to-date general dental services in a welcoming, spa-like setting that would soothe and relax dental patients. There, she loves to deliver first-class, full services to everyone, and provide the level of care and quality of equipment and technology usually expected by the most affluent patients.
In keeping with her holistic philosophy, Dr. Shahabi wanted to create a healing space free of toxic materials. Her
office, furnished and finished with sustainable materials, is located in a LEED Gold-certified office building in
San Francisco’s financial district. Patients love her cool, green office with its touch of class as much as they
appreciate her friendly, professional staff.

Personal Interests
In keeping with her lifelong drive to help improve the lives of others, Dr. Shahabi dedicates her free time to working with individuals in need, both at home and abroad. When she’s not providing hands-on care in San Francisco, she travels to work with patients in London and New York. She is also an active philanthropist, supporting a number of community and national charities, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Edgewood Center for Children and Families, the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Education and Experience
Dr. Shahabi is a graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, and earned her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to opening Bliss Dental SF, she was affiliated with the group practice Smile Care, where she opened and managed dental practices. She also acquired experience practicing dentistry in three private dental practices.
Dr. Devin Babauta, DDS
Dr. Devin Babauta is from Ventura County, CA, but has lived in the Bay Area for over 10 years. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular Biology. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from UCSF School of Dentistry and stayed for an Advanced General Dentistry residency program, where he learned more complex surgical procedures like placing implants. His educational background and clinical experience in patient-centered care, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and oral surgery make him an asset to our team. He loves getting to know people and aims to show each of his patients he has their best interest at heart.
In his spare time, he likes lifting weights, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his fiancée and two cats, Yami and Hikari.

Office Mascot
Meet Bentley, the newest member of Dr. Shahabi’s team!
Bentley is a friendly, chihuahua-dachshund mix. He’s therefore little, and full of love. He was born in July 2016, and Dr. Shahabi rescued him from the SPCA only a few months later.
As the office mascot, he steers clear of the action, cheering patients on from the sidelines and adding to the family-friendly feeling of Dr. Shahabi’s office.
